Continuing in the series of creating TMG based VPN to support multiple platforms I am going to cover the steps required to configure a PPTP VPN on OSX.
To Configure the VPN perform the following steps:
- Open System Preferences
- Network
- + (Bottom Left Corner to add an interface)
- Interface : VPN
- Type PPTP
- Pick a Name
- Create
- On the left hand side select the interface you just created
- Address: Specify the public name or IP
- Encryption : Maximum
- Authentication : leave as Password
- Check Show VPN satus in the menu bar
(This give you an quick place to connect and disconnect as well as a duration indicator)
- Click Advanced
- On the Options tab check Send all traffic over VPN connection
- On the DNS tab add the DNS suffix search domain : company.com
- On the Proxies tab select auto proxy configuration : specify the URL http://proxy.company.com/wpad.dat
- Close the advance section
- Connect to start the VPN connection
